A live service of Holy Communion including a short sermon which you can dial into and listen using your normal telephone, like any other phone call.

Dialling in by phone

  • Call 0330 088 5830 (local call rates)
  • When prompted, using your handset, tap in the meeting ID number: 96872099226
  • Press the hash symbol button on your phone - # - it’s the one which looks like a noughts and crosses board.

A special licensing service to welcome our new vicar to St John's Church in Farsley.

Rev Gareth Howles will be licensed as Priest in Charge at a specal service taking place in church at 7:30pm.

The service is by invitation only but we will making it available to watch on our website. Further details to follow.

The service will be Holy Communion and is designed to be watched from the comfort of your own sofa, containing all the elements of worship we would ordinarily be enjoying in church - including readings, hymns, a sermon and prayers.

We hope as many people as possible are able to watch the service online and that it will be a real blessing to you while we are stopped from meeting together in St John's.

We would also like to extend a welcome with our online worship to those people who are new to St John's, or maybe even new to church entirely. You are most welcome.

9:30amABC Church - meeting by video call

Bring the children for a fun service designed especially for those of pre-school age to enjoy alongside their parents. 

While our church building is closed we are hosting the short half-hour ABC service for Adults, Babies and Children via video call using Zoom.

You can access the service using your computer, tablet or mobile phone using your internet connection.

Because this is a service for families with young children we are sending invitations to anybody who would like to attend. If you would like to be sent one, please contact Bev Tuke by email on abcchurch@stjohnsfarsley.org.uk.

Join us for our weekly Parish Communion service which takes place inside St John's Church.

We are welcoming members of all our congregations to worship together at the same weekly service. Due to coronavirus restrictions it is not yet possible for us to return to our previous pattern of services which is why we are holding this new service every Sunday at 9:30am.

The service will last around 30-40 minutes and although we cannot currently sing in church, there will be some music as part of the service.

Please do join us, whether you are are regular at St John's or a newcomer. It will be wonderful to worship together, in person.

6:00pmDrive-In Carol Service

Get in the festive mood by joining us for our Drive-In Carol Service in the car park of Go Outdoors.

It will be a great chance to come together and sing all your favourite Christmas Carols after many months when we have been unable to sing together in a large group.

We will all be enjoying the music from the physically distanced safety of our own vehicles but the sound of our voices will still come together in a heavenly noise!

You need to book your ticket online to be sure of getting a space for your vehicle in the car park.

Thursday 24th December 20205:30pmChristingle Service - Online worship

Our Christingle service is always a big favourite for families and even though we are doing the service differently this year we hope it will still be a really special moment in your build up to Christmas.

The service will be a recorded service online which you can watch as a family from the comfort of your own home. It will premiere here in the Recorded Services section of our website, and on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel at 5:30pm.

You can choose to watch it at 5:30pm with everyone else who joins the premiere or you can watch it later if you prefer.

To join in with the service you can collect your Christingle kits from the Farmers Market on Sunday 19 December.

11:30pmMidnight Communion

Join us as we celebrate the first Communion of Christmas at 11:30pm. 

It is always a very special service as we come together shortly before midnight while the world is in darkness to celebrate the great light that comes into our lives at Christmas.

This year we have a service in church at 11:30pm which you are warmly invited to attend.

We will also have a recorded service of Holy Communion which you can watch from the comfort of your own home. It will premiere here in the Recorded Services section of our website, and on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel at 11:30pm, but will also be available for you to watch later if you prefer.
