New curate joining St John's this summer
We are delighted to announce that a new curate will be joining us at St John's later this summer. Dr Joanna Leidenhag will become our new self-supporting minister following her ordination in July.
Details announced for Christmas services
Celebrate the Joy of Christmas with us at St John's this year. We have a series of special services this Christmas including Carols by Candlelight, Midnight Communion and a new Blue Christmas service for those who find this time of year more challenging.
New weekly service of Morning Prayer
Make time for some peaceful reflection at our new traditional service of Morning Prayer on Thursdays at 9am. We will gather in the choir stalls and use the language of the Book of Common Prayer for this time of prayer.
Five years of our Online Worship at St John's
This weekend marks five years since our first service of Online Worship. What started as a hurried alternative to traditional church during Covid continue to be a much valued alternative way of sharing worship for some members of our congregation.
Appeal for donations to support Leeds homelessness charity during Lent
Giving something up for Lent isn’t for everyone. That’s why this Lent we are inviting people to donate items to help a charity which supports people who are homeless in Leeds.

Services announced for Lent and Easter 2025
A series of special services will be taking place throughout Lent, taking St John's all the way to Easter. You are invited to join us as we journey together this year following the theme of Living Hope.
Events announced for start of Lent
We will be starting Lent with a pancake party on Shrove Tuesday and then two special services of Holy Communion on Ash Wednesday with the traditional Imposition of Ashes.
New vicar licensed in special service
Rev Nathanael Poole has been licensed as the new Priest in Charge at St John's Church in Farsley.
