Jubilee Hymn

Jubilee Hymn by W. Richardson

Slightly adapted by B.H. Bretherick. The original tune is not known. The words "all these" in the last line of verse 3 replace the original word "fifty" as the hymn was written for the Jubilee Service in 1893, October 27th)

Our Hearts we raise, our voices join,

In one loud burst of song,

God bless our own beloved church,

Her glorious work belong.

Let every one rejoice and bring,

To God immortal praise;

Recount his mercies while we sing,

Of goodness, love and grace.

Through all the changes of the past,

'Mid toils, and hopes and fears;

She's raised the banner of the cross,

E'en now for all these years.

While those we loved, once worshipped here

though in a feeble strain,

Now raise their joyful songs above,

Unto the lamb once slain.

Oh may our feet pursue the way,

Our pious fathers trod;

With love and holy zeal obey,

The precepts of our God.

Numbers of souls in glory now,

Were fed and nourished here;

And many more, still on their way,

From fresh supplies draw near.

Oh may Thy church more zealous be,

The lambs be gathered in,

Her work be done for Thee,

And sinners warned from sin.

The blessings come to every home,

That all may grow in grace,

And love thee ever more and more,

Until we see thy face.

Our hearts we raise, our voices join,

In one united song;

God bless our Church in every land,

Her glorious work to own.
